"I especially enjoy tutoring Spanish, but I am qualified to tutor a wide range of other topics as well. While studying for my degree in economics at The College of William & Mary, I became well-acquainted with the struggle of learning a new, complex subject. "I especially enjoy tutoring Spanish, but I am qualified to tutor a wide range of other topics as well. While studying for my degree in economics at The College of William & Mary, I became well-acquainted with the struggle of learning a new, complex subject. I want to be a guide to help those who are discouraged by the complexity of studying a new language or other difficult topic.
I strive to make a personal and academic connection with my clients during tutoring. My style can be as structured or free-form as desired. I can help my clients work through problems in a textbook in preparation for a test, or I can bring poetry and music for translation for a more culturally-based learning experience. The decision is up to you!
I started learning Spanish in high school and have always loved it. I was so enthusiastic about the language that I successfully campaigned for the addition of Spanish IV to the list of electives when I was in 10th grade.
I continue to be passionate about languages, especially Spanish. I took 2 more Spanish classes in college and spent a summer interning with a bilingual nonprofit in Peru. I also lived in the Spanish House in college, an arrangement where you live with other Spanish speakers in order to improve in the language. I have travelled to multiple Spanish-speaking countries, including Peru, Panama, Mexico, and Spain. I love to listen to Spanish-language music and watch Spanish-language films. I am excited to share my passion for the Spanish language with my clients!
Feel free to send me a message to set up a session! I work a traditional 9-5 job during the day, but my evenings and weekends are almost always free. I'm excited to start right away helping you reach your academic and personal learning goals!" less...
