"Hi! I am a 4th-year medical student in Memphis, TN. Before coming to UT, I completed degrees in Spanish and biochemistry, where I tutored both and exclusively spoke Spanish at my job as a medical assistant. I also studied abroad in Colombia while in college. As a part of my Spanish studies, I scored advanced high on the ACTFL Spanish proficiency exam and have experience tutoring Spanish at the undergraduate level. I am currently a volunteer medical interpreter while enrolled at UTHSC.

My goal as a tutor is to help make the Spanish language engaging and interactive - I know from experience that high school and college language classes can be quite tedious when you're made to memorize conjugations but don't feel like you're learning anything practical. I enjoy taking students' lesson plans and curricula and modifying them to suit their learning style and explain the why behind certain grammar/vocabulary concepts in a depth that isn't always possible in a classroom setting." less...
