I am a New York State certified childhood education teacher in grades 1-6 BA

I am also certified in special education grades 1-12 MA

Please allow me to explain briefly my philosophy regarding education and how I would contribute to the growth and improvement of your child's academic success.

I believe in evolving instruction that incorporates the latest multidisciplinary models in education. For example, in a learning environment student academic performance is increased as student to teacher ratio is decreased. Effective learning environments produce collaborative workers and complex thinkers.Providing quality, student centered academic instruction and leadership remains one of the core catalysts for success in education. As I was taught with these instructional philosophies, I am confident in these methods.

In my instructional career, I have served as the director for the Smart Moves program at Columbus Elementary after school program aiding students with academic and physical education tasks. I was able to influence student improvement in these areas.I also have one years experience as a Teachers Assistant for students with severe and multiple disabilities.

I also currently work at the United Methodist Church in a summer program called the Tree House where I provide spiritual guidance as well as emotional support. I am also currently a substitute teacher for the Utica School District.

One quality that I would bring to the position that would be unique among other candidates is my personal background of overcoming certain learning disabilities. This has given me great experience in developing strategies that address both short-term and long-term needs through differentiated instruction and measurable objectives.
