"I am a dedicated special education teacher with nearly 15 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs. I hold a master's degree in special education and am currently pursuing a post-master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I currently serve as a Compliance Facilitator and Autism Liaison in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, ensuring that students receive the appropriate support and accommodations while collaborating with educators and families to create effective learning plans.
I have extensive experience teaching both in-person and remotely, working with children with various disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments. Passionate about literacy instruction, I am a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor and SPIRE-certified specialist. Through these evidence-based reading interventions, I have witnessed significant progress in my students, helping them develop critical literacy skills and confidence. In addition to reading instruction, I have experience teaching K-5 mathematics using Pirate Math and Number Worlds, providing structured, research-based interventions to support students in building foundational math skills.
I utilize a variety of teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of my students, including differentiated instruction, multisensory learning, visual supports, and technology integration. I believe in making learning engaging and accessible by incorporating interactive and hands-on activities.
My commitment lies in fostering a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning space where all students can build confidence, develop essential academic skills, and reach their full potential." less...
