"After twenty years in the business world working as an operational analyst, I have left my cubicle behind and have pursued education. I really have made a great move for myself as I love tutoring and teaching; I get to work from my home and I get to do what I love. Working in Analytics, I worked heavily with data and databases. I think I have spent most of my working career in MS Excel and have done innumerable things with it. In my work, I was always searching for answers, and SQL is the key computer language to know when looking for data. SQL is deceptively simple and yet so powerful, and I really enjoy using it. Displaying data deserves a good data visualization tool. To complete the picture (pun), you need to visualize data using Power BI.

My philosophy is that I am more of a guide than a teacher. I think the most effective learning is learning where the student is discovering their own answers and for the most part they just need a guide to point them in the right direct direction when they go astray.

SQL

I have twelve plus years hands-on work experience with SQL. I have worked for most of my professional career as an analyst and SQL was the most powerful skill in my toolbox. I can create complex multi-table queries, functions, subqueries, stored procedures and database connections.

EXCEL

I have been using MS Excel for over 20 years. I have mastered complex formulas and functions, data visualization, Power Query, and much more!

MS Access

I can assist in creating tables, queries, forms and reports. I can assist in importing and integrating data from many sources.

POWER BI

No analysis is complete without great data visualizations. I have years of experience with Power BI to pull data in from various sources and create great data visualizations.
