"To list the exact specifics of my accomplishments, I will demonstrate why I might be the perfect tutor for you! Before entering college, I graduated from high school with a 3.7 GPA, and AP scores of 4 for the Literature, Calculus and Biology exams. I graduated next from the University of Florida with a 3.5 GPA for a Bachelor’s in English literature, and then Florida Atlantic University with a Master’s in Education (Curriculum & Instruction) at a 3.6 GPA. Throughout this course, I obtained a composite 1310 on my SAT and scored in the 90th percentile for GRE Verbal.
Regarding my four years as an AP Literature teacher for juniors, 75% of my students scored a 3 or higher, with about 20% achieving a 5. From there, to teach English in Asia for nearly a decade, I received my 120 hour TEFL certification from Love TEFL—one of the most prestigious accreditations in the UK for teaching English to non-native speakers. It has thus far been a varied and fruitful teaching career, with total teaching and tutoring spanning well over a decade. My students have ranged from children to adults, but primarily high school and university students, comprising expertise in verbal components, mastery of writing (emphasizing structure, cohesion, organization, proof and style), and extensive experience and success with standardized test prep, such as SAT, ACT, GRE, SSAT, SHSAT, FTCE. Let’s chat soon and I’ve no doubt that I’ll be able to help you reach your goals and achieve your dreams!" less...
