"Hello! I'm Savanna. I recently graduated from my doctoral program in clinical psychology at Stanford University. I attended Boston College as an undergrad and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. I have 5 years of tutoring experience working with people of all ages, learning abilities, and styles. I have also worked in preparing lesson materials for summer camps and collaborated extensively with schools. I am passionate about the subjects I know, and I am excited to share that with others. I like to translate the material in a relevant, applicable way to understand how the content is used in the real world. I firmly believe that with an open mind and engagement with the material, anyone has the opportunity to grasp any subject!
I believe math is a subject that seems daunting to many people, but once learned, it can be very rewarding and applicable to the real world. Understanding problem-solving is an important skill to have. I have received top scores on the math sections of the SAT and GRE exams. I have five years tutoring math at an elementary, middle, and high school levels including algebra, geometry and pre-calculus.
I have used Adobe Photoshop for nine years as a hobby and professionally. During undergrad, I was the Photography Editor for the student newspaper where I did many different photo editing techniques for online and print publications, as well as taught these techniques to my group of photography staff members.
I want to be a resource and ensure learning is engaging and interesting. I would love to work with parents and caregivers as well and welcome suggestions and guides to how their child learns best. Feel free to reach out to ask me any questions!" less...
