"Hello! My name is Seth. I am 23 years old. I speak English and Russian natively. I am currently a PhD student in neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. I graduated from Stanford University, majoring in biology and minoring in international relations with a GPA of 4.01. I will be pleased to meet you!
In high school, I earned a GPA of 4.14 and performed well on various standardized exams (e.g., 1590/1600 on the SAT) and math and writing contests. The White House honored me as a U.S. Presidential Scholar. I have published scientific articles, including two first-author papers, and literary pieces.
I worked with Crimson Education for several months teaching SAT language and math skills to high schoolers, including some with poor English. I delivered 66 lessons and earned an average student satisfaction rating of 4.9/5. I have also taught contest math and helped revise essays for college applications.
I like to teach interactively, emphasizing intuitive thinking and your natural ability to solve outwardly daunting problems. I find it critical to build up your confidence and reveal the joy of harnessing your innate talents. I come prepared with a lesson plan and take time to explain concepts, of course, but for me our work together is most effective when you and I are in a constant dialogue! I will certainly adapt my tutoring to your current strengths and weaknesses and to your learning style. I am convinced that with guidance focused not on outcomes but on YOU and your self-realization, you will become a top exam scorer and a strong essay writer, provided that you are motivated to improve—but motivation, if lacking, is something I will be glad to build up, too!
I enjoy teaching mathematical problem-solving and command of language. I will be delighted to work with you on preparing for college entrance exams or strengthening your applications to college or biology graduate programs. It will be an honor to bless your life by helping you develop your skills and voice! Hope to connect soon!" less...
