"I am a recent college graduate from Stanford University, where I double majored in Economics and Film & Media Studies. And for the past four years I have also worked as a professional tutor or teacher's assistant for a variety of companies and organizations, including Stanford University. During this time, I have discovered that I really love working with students, and helping them master subjects that they previously struggled with, or even feared. I still remember how much of a positive impact some of my favorite teachers had on me, and I hope to have the same impact on the students I work with.
Which is why as a tutor, I believe it is important to get to know my students personally, and to create individualized lesson plans that address the specific needs and goals of my clients. In my many years working as I tutor, I have found that a truly successful tutor not only teaches their subject, but inspires their students to actively engage with the material.
I have extensive experiencing teaching SAT prep, ACT prep, various AP subjects (including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP American History), and other standard high school courses. As a college graduate that majored in both Economics and Film & Media Studies, I have an extensive background that has prepared me for teaching classes in both the STEM fields and the Humanities.
