"I have over 1000 hours of tutoring experience with over 100 students ranging in age from 8 years old to 50 years old. My most common subjects are statistics, psychology, and mathematics, typically at the high school or college level.
When I am not tutoring, I currently work at UC Berkeley as an academic advisor for the undeclared students in the College of Natural Resources. Through this position, I can advise for courses that prepare students for college, transfer admissions, and study strategies. Before this position, I worked as an assistant director for the Summer Focus program, in which 55 high school students (80% of whom were international students) took UC Berkeley courses. In this position, I led the 20-hour SAT prep session along with helping student by proofreading essays and quizzing them on their class material.
My tutoring is entirely based off of a students’ needs and goals. I am very patient with students, and I try multiple approaches to each problem until we find one that works for the student. I try to make my sessions with students as efficient as possible, answering all specific questions while providing more context and practice beyond the scope of the assignment where it is necessary. I believe that all students can learn the subjects I tutor with adequate practice, and after meeting with me many students find that the course is more straightforward than they initially thought. Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing students learn to like a class that they have struggled with or get an A in a class they thought they would never pass.
Please message me if you have any further questions about my background, course proficiency, or tutoring style. I look forward to talking with you soon.
