"Hello! I’m a 19-year-old student at the University of Florida studying biomedical engineering with a minor in disabilities in society. I offer tutoring in elementary through high school STEM (specializing in math and chemistry) as well as French horn lessons for beginner and intermediate players.
I was a Wyzant student myself for several years and know firsthand how great instruction can build confidence. I went from being terrified to practice my horn in front of my parents to performing a Grade 7 solo—the highest level—both at a state assessment and in front of an auditorium. Now, as I approach ten years as a brass musician (nine on horn), I strive to help my students grow the same way. I served as captain of my state finalist marching band in 2023 and currently hold various positions in Tau Beta Sigma, a honorary band service sorority. I’m also an active member of both the marching and concert band, keeping me engaged in performance year-round.
Academically, I’m a huge math nerd and finished Calculus 3 with an A in my freshman year. I’ve also completed the chemistry sequence for my major and love tutoring organic chemistry. I have extensive experience with Cambridge/AICE and SAT test prep, having earned my AICE diploma with distinction and a National Merit note of commendation.
For the past two years, I’ve provided private tutoring in both academics and French horn, maintaining a steady group of students. My teaching experience also includes five years of volunteer instruction for beginner and intermediate junior high bands, three years of leadership in a 150-member band, and tutoring students in various STEM subjects. Beyond academics and music, I love working with different learning styles and spent my summer volunteering at an inclusive adaptive gymnastics camp. I’m always happy to accommodate individual needs to help students succeed!" less...
