"Hi, I’m Zamir! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Hartford, where I consistently achieved Dean’s List recognition. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong foundation in STEM subjects, and I am passionate about making math and science more accessible for students. During college, I provided informal peer tutoring, helping fellow students with subjects such as calculus, physics, and engineering principles. Working both one-on-one and in group settings, I tailored my explanations to different learning styles, reinforcing my passion for teaching and mentoring.
Beyond academics, I have hands-on experience working with younger students. As a Camp Counselor at Sunset Point Camp, I supervised and mentored children ages 6-14, leading team sports, arts and crafts, and educational games. I was sometimes the Head Counselor, responsible for organizing activities and ensuring a safe, structured environment that fostered confidence and skill development. Additionally, I volunteered as a Soccer Coach for the University of Hartford Soccer Club, leading practice sessions and developing drills for beginner and intermediate players while encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship among my fellow college students.
My tutoring philosophy centers on patience, adaptability, and creating an engaging learning environment. I strive to make complex concepts more approachable by connecting them to real-world applications, helping students build confidence and problem-solving skills. Whether it’s preparing for exams, tackling difficult homework, or strengthening foundational knowledge, I am dedicated to supporting my students’ academic success. I look forward to working with students from various backgrounds—please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session!" less...
