I received my B.Sc. in biochemistry with a minor in English from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2022, where I graduated magna cum laude with a 3.550 GPA. I completed my M.Sc. in oceanography in 2024 from the University of Connecticut with a 3.771 GPA. In addition to my schooling, I have presented scientific research at local and international conferences. I have also published and received awards for three short stories, reflecting my commitment to both scientific inquiry and creative expression.
My teaching experience covers a wide range, having instructed students from middle school to the college level, including a recent tenure at Choate Rosemary Hall, one the leading boarding schools in the United States, where I taught middle school marine biology. At the college level, I have instructed students in lab-based health sciences and general chemistry courses. I first began tutoring high school chemistry and biology students on a one-on-one basis when I was in high school myself at the request of my own instructors. I found I have a passion for helping others understand material that I enjoy. Since then, I have gone on to continue tutoring students one-on-one at middle school, high school, and college levels for chemistry, biology, creative writing, and literature courses, as well as for ACT test prep. In addition, I hosted group tutoring sessions for chemistry and marine sciences for undergraduate students during my own college years as both an undergraduate and master's student. These experiences have honed my ability to adapt my teaching methods to various learning styles and academic needs, ensuring that each student can thrive. I'm excited to work with you and help you achieve your academic potential!" less...
