"Hi, my name is Ryan! I'm currently a Pre-Med student at Case Western Reserve University, majoring in biology. Throughout my high school and college careers so far, I've been tutoring math for over three years at various levels, ranging from basic arithmetics to AP Calculus AB/BC. The students I tutored in Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 saw a significant improvement in their grades. In addition, my students have all received either 4s or 5s in both AP Calculus AB and BC exams. Based on such sublime results that my students achieved, I decided to become an AP Calculus tutor ever since.
As an AP Calculus Tutor, I prioritize my students' ability to grasp fundamental concepts needed for the AP Calculus AB/BC courses. From time to time, I noticed that students sometimes have the tendency to rush to reach the answer when encountering different problems or quickly run to a formula to solve them. However, I want my students first to understand how the formulas and mathematical methods they utilize play out when they reach an answer and prioritize understanding “why” and “how” they got a certain answer. I believe this was the most crucial aspect that bolstered my students’ scores in AP Calculus.
Throughout my high school career, I received a 5 on both the AP Calculus AB and BC exams (including the AB subscore of BC), as well as 4s and 5s on 8 other AP exams. I also received a 1560 on my SAT during my sophomore year, scoring 780 in math and 780 in English.
I’ve also gotten A’s in both semesters in AP Calculus AB and BC. Within these classes, I’ve received a 100 on the Mock Exams of both courses.
As a person who stays attentive and asks many questions in class, I love to receive questions just as much. My genuine passion to properly educate my students always takes a huge priority. Please reach out to me if you have any questions in mind or want to schedule a lesson with me! I look forward to providing my students with the best service possible, both in and outside my meetings." less...
