"After going through all the popular review courses while preparing for step 1 I noticed a lack of focus on the critical skill required for achieving a high score, analytical thinking. While most programs will help you learn the material through memorization, the thinking process which step 1 has gravitated towards, is left up to the student. This was a common area many of my students in the past struggled with, they could recite the information but applying that information into the question and coming up with the answer was lacking. I developed an integumentary system that combines multiple high yield resources into one, saving the student wasted time on scouring for answers. I actually go through the questions with the student, developing the thought process of not only quickly recalling what they have learned but extracting the relevant information in the question to get the right answer. The problem with video lectures or even live classroom lectures is you can't ask for clarification or special help with the areas of misunderstanding, which is the best way to increase your score. This is where tutoring can help address those subjects you have always struggled with grasping and create a broad foundation of knowledge with few weaknesses. Maximizing your score on these exams greatly enhances your chances at a competitive residency in the fiercely competitive medical field. I look forward to helping you achieve your full potential.
We can set up a initial meeting of no charge where we can go over what your target score, time frame of studying, and level of tutoring required to see what is required so I can then develop a personalized study plan. My average rate is $40 an hour but I can also work with students for different payment plans to help with finances. Tutoring will actually save you lots of money compared to most review courses which are in the thousands. Best way to contact me is through email at so we can set up our first meeting." less...

I have completed kaplan and doctors in training as well as kaplan qbank, uworld qbank and usmle rx qbank. My main sources are step up to the usmle, MTB, and First Aid. Using a combination of these I was able to score in the 99th percentile and I'm confident I can help you achieve a competitive score as well.
