"Hi, my name is Bailey! I am a graduate from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, I moved to Orlando for work as an engineer in theme park design. While I love working as an engineer, there were definitely parts of my education that I struggled in - the most memorable being calculus 3. For the longest time I was convinced that I was incapable of understanding portions of that course. After pursuing every avenue I could on my own, I met with a tutor for the first time and it was a game-changer. Having a one-on-one relationship with someone that was willing to share their knowledge helped change not only my outlook in the course, but my understanding of how different people learn. Simply put, people learn in different ways. Not understanding a concept the first time says nothing about one’s intelligence or ability, and there is nothing wrong with needing to hear things explained in different ways. My goal in tutoring is to help students who feel like they can’t learn something. I understand how that feels, and I wholeheartedly believe anyone can master something when they tackle it from the right angle.

Tutoring is rather new for me and I am willing to start with a free diagnostic session to see how I can be of assistance – this is a learning experience for me too! With this, I am always looking for (and grateful to hear!) recommendations on how to be a more effective tutor :)" less...

Education and Qualifications

school: University of Michigan

As a full-time Structural Engineer, I use material from these courses every day. Trigonometry, Algebra, and Precalculus can be very daunting subjects, and there is a huge amount of material covered in any one of them! I am here to help and do everything in my power to aid in the understanding of these classes. I will use my real-world experience and passion for communication to improve both class performance and overall course understanding. This can include anything the student needs, from practice worksheets to explanations on how I have used this material to solve real world problems.
