Mahina was born in Tokyo, Japan and grew up in Tokyo until 10 years old. At 2016, she moved to California with her Family and she jumped into American school with no basic English knowledge. After a hard work, she was able to speak English fluently after 2 years of studying.
Mahina graduated from a high school in Bay Area and took 5 AP classes, maintaining GPA of 3.9. While in high school, she volunteered at a nonprofit organization that teaches coding and internet ethics to kids age of 7 - 14. In classroom, she worked as a TA, teaching how to use zoom, and how to complete the coding assignments given in class. She volunteered for two and half years.
She have been playing violin for 15 years and she has participated in orchestra for 7 years. She has taught violin for kids age 8 - 15, including individual lesson and a chamber group lesson.
