"Hi. My name is Joyce. Getting to work with you will be a pleasure! Why? I possess passion and drive to help students become life-long learners and really enjoy the process.
My intense desire to help others succeed began before I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Social Work and earned a minor equivalent in journalism. Two years later, I received a Master of Public Administration and was selected to work as one of the governor’s intern. In graduate school, I received honors for my internship papers. As an employee, I was asked to write part of the Re-accreditation report. The Re-accreditation team gave me a superior rating for my portion of the report. Yet, no recognition in life is as important as being known for helping others to get ahead.
Teaching can be very venturesome when you have appropriate credentials and an outstanding track record. A TESOL certificate and self-studies have given me opportunities to teach ESL students from 80 plus different countries. Most of my students have been adults, a few were teenagers. Some of the youth gave me unsolicited reviews such as “You are the best.”
I have taught ESL and other language arts classes for more than 15 years. Grammar and writing are my fortes. I aim to transfer such skills to my students. The writing skills of two of my students gained them admission into some of the best colleges in Georgia. My students enjoy their lessons. I always include a fun way of learning that will encourage them to use the skill in practical ways. Each lesson is designed with the needs, interests, and goals of students, foremost.
Invitation: Any student who would like to move forward with language arts studies may contact me for a free mini lesson. Just state the topic, and we will run with it!" less...
