"Hi parents! I am an elementary school math specialist and father of two teenagers. I would love to help your child develop their math skills, deepen their understanding of important math concepts, and enhance their problem solving abilities. It is my firm belief that all students can be successful with mathematics. It just takes time and the right mindset.

The summer has a reputation as a time when students' skills slide, but it doesn't have to be that way. I see it as an opportunity to make up lost ground, patch up any shaky foundational skills, and set students on the right course to begin their next school year.

While I have limited experience in the private tutoring realm, I have 20 years of experience working with students one-on-one and in small groups as a 5th and 6th grade classroom teacher, as well as in my current role as a K-4 math intervention teacher. In these roles I have developed teaching and learning strategies that are successful with all students, regardless of their present skill level or their attitude towards learning mathematics.
