"My name is Dawn C. and I have been teaching, tutoring, or volunteering with students since I was in second grade. I enjoyed tutoring as an elective in school and worked ROP Pre School Teaching for three hours each day in my junior and senior years of high school in the eighties. I took Early Child Development classes for my AA Degree and worked as a pre school teacher for five years. Teaching three, four and Pre K classes. My passion to teach is over fifty years in the making.

Once I had my three sons in the nineties I home schooled them for pre school and worked in their classes all throughout elementary. I worked with students in Math, Language Arts, Science, Reading, Art, History, and Computers. Taking on many lead positions within the PTA, Sister School, Community Service Program, Book Swap, Fund Raising, and Site Council brought me joy in helping our community and others. I also volunteered in the library for a decade and my love of children's books and helping children read grew even more during 2020. I took an online volunteer position three thousand miles away, in The Bronx, and lead a Read Aloud each week for years while also mentoring a student online. We used EPIC Books and I read and shared reading with students. We did programs with our readings to gain money for the organization.

In 2022, I went back to college for my Human Services Degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Currently, I am substituting K-12 in California with an ER 30 Day Certification. While teaching and advocating in the San Ramon Unified School District and San Lorenzo School District for the past year my passion and love to learn and teach has grown.
