"When I tutor I determine what the student wants and needs to know. If it is homework help, I will provide relevant examples to assist the student to understand the principles involved in the problems and practical methods of solving the problems. I use the student's material and provide supplemental work as needed.

For standardized test preparation I have students work questions in front of me to determine their approach to questions, the methods that they are using to deduce the answer, and how they are choosing their answers. I do much vocabulary development and give homework to be done before the next tutoring session."
