"Throughout my occupational career, I have strived to serve others. I serve because I must touch the lives of the people I encounter. This concept has been demonstrated in my educational and occupational ventures. I have served my community by volunteering my time, resources, and skills for the betterment of others. I have worked with youth to empower them academically, personally, and physically. This goal has been accomplished through my work with Kansas City Girls Preparatory Academy, Turn the Page KC, City Year Kansas City, Kauffman Steppers, STEP Movement, KIPP Endeavor Academy, individual tutoring, and mentorship. I also was an educational aide for Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy.

I previously was the Program Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City for the Olathe Unit. I also was the YMCA of Greater Kansas City Site Supervisor for Pleasant Ridge Elementary School. I was also the Campfire Heartland Site Director for KIPP Endeavor Academy. Becoming a teacher will merge my passions for youth, community, and service. I am always willing to learn, lead, and love others through service. Educational institutions thrive on being the voice of youth. A school is a place for youth to be accepted and have safety and support.
