"I love teaching accounting at the college level. I worked as a public accountant and auditor for almost 30 years in Chicago. I took up teaching as a transition career. I have worked in Chicago Community Colleges for several years and then came down to Florida to assist with my 90+ year-old mom. I took a position teaching adjunct classes at the University of Tampa. During the pandemic rush back, I taught full-time visiting for one year to help out. I love to help out the student who is non-accounting major. In an unusual twist, many of my students switched majors to accounting. Our Accounting program began feeding more students into Intermediate accounting and expanded two-fold or more. Those students who came back to thank me attributed their confidence in accounting knowledge to my classes. Several students went on to tutor accounting at the university.

My students were mostly college students. The University of Tampa is a global community and has a strong international student mix. I am from Chicago. Every block in Chicago has a different mix of nationalities, community, ethnicity. Just to navigate my city I became accustomed to accents.

I have also completed the TEFL 3 hour course in January 2025. It is very helpful to design online tutoring. I liked it very much. I am at ease online." less...
