"I began my educational career at Front Range Community College where I studied for my Emergency Medical Technician’s certificate. After receiving my EMT certification I began my sophomore year of college taking Nursing School pre-requisites. I moved to the University of Northern Colorado where I played rugby and studied abroad in Australia at the University of Canberra. When I returned to the University of Northern Colorado I changed my major to a double major of Nursing and Nutrition.
After graduating with my Nutrition degree from University of Northern Colorado, I returned to Front Range Community College to get my Certified Nurses Aid certification. Unfortunately during this time I had an injury that wouldn’t permit me to stand on my feet for long periods of time, so I abandoned my dreams of nursing.
Instead I found a passion for teaching when I started to tutor for an Alternative Secondary School that focused on Social Emotional Learning. I began working as a teacher for the same program in February 2022 and returned to school. I started the Alternative Teaching Licensure program at Metropolitan State University of Denver in July 2022 and graduated from this program in December 2023.
As a teacher my duties included supporting middle school and high school students with all subjects. Although Science is my strong suit, I am also knowledgeable in Algebra, Language Arts, Spanish and Social Studies. I also have my
endorsement t teach Young Children and Elementary School aged children.
With all that being said, my strongest asset is relationship building and connecting with the student so I can help you tie new information to your likes and prior knowledge. I look forward to working with you." less...
