"Yuriy S., visiting assistant professor at Indiana University. Conducts scientific research in the field of modeling biomolecular and other nanosystems related to computer-aided design of nanomaterials and vaccines based on virus-like particles. His duties include writing proposals for external and internal funding, scientific programming, mentoring students and guiding them through theoretical methods, mathematical software, scripting, and the use of supercomputing facilities.

Born in Ukraine in 1975, he graduated from high school in 1991, then studied general, engineering, theoretical and mathematical physics at Kharkiv National University, School of Physics & Technology until 1997. Carried out theoretical studies in the area of phase transitions in solids until 2004. He received a research assistant position and a tuition scholarship at Tulane University, where he studied in the graduate school of chemistry, taught general chemistry labs and served as a tutor of algebra, calculus, statistics, physics and chemistry until 2007. Dr. S. continued scientific research at the departments of mathematics, physics and chemistry in several universities.
