"I have been retired from substitute teaching (30 years) and teaching private music lessons (40 years) for four years. I hold a Bachelor degree in Music Education-elementary emphasis from The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. My experience and abilities in coaching hundreds of music students of all ages leaves me with so many lovely memories of lives I had the honor to be a part of. Many of my students encouraged their younger siblings as well as their parents to begin music lessons with me. Because I was able to teach several instruments as well as voice I could coach a student who wanted to explore different instruments. I now have the pleasure of seeing former students continue in music performance and education challenging their own students to realize their full potential, as I had the pleasure of coaching children and adults to reach their goals.
As a substitute teacher in public and private schools, I was called upon to teach classes from Pre-School through High School in all subjects including Self-Contained and Special Ed. I loved being able to get to know kids in so many different settings as I would see them in one class one day, and in another class the next.
My teaching experience and abilities are not wasted even though I retired. I am a past Commander of an Awana club and am currently song leader and teacher in another Awana club as well as Sunday School teacher and Children's Choir leader at my church.
In Awana I have the joy of helping kids uncover their ability to memorize and learn
biographies of people from our past. Each summer I volunteer at a week long Awana camp and even though I work in the Junior High dining room, I feel blessed to be able to serve in a way which taps into my natural love for kids. I love being around kids. At camp I get to be with around 300 of them for a whole week!
I hope you will allow me to help you realize your potential and ability. You will be amazed with yourself as you gain the power to reach your goal." less...
