I've been tutoring for 7 years now. I've worked in tutoring centers in group settings, one on one sessions, have done test prep tutoring, and have taught kids from 2nd grade to 12th grade, and even college students and adult learners! When you hire me you get all this wealth of experience that I've gathered from each of these encounters. From struggling students, to accelerated learners, I have no issues working with any variety of student from my ground up approach of tutoring. To me, tutoring is like a doctor giving a diagnosis; I figure out what core concepts the student is struggling with, observe how they work on the problems, then figure out the roadmap to get them from Point A to Point B in terms of them understanding math. This is what I love so much about tutoring!
After working at Fusion Academy South Bay and working with students with special needs and the differentiated learning approach, I learned how to differentiate material for my students. Each child learns differently, at different speeds, viewing math in different ways, and have certain strengths and weaknesses that make specific topics in math either easier or harder. During my time teaching I spent a considerable amount of time learning how to create problems that could suit my students while feeling the success of learning a their new math topic. Doing this for so long has helped me pick up and creating specific problem in real-time to address student's issue." less...
