"I have 16+ years experience teaching a wide variety of students and a number of different topics. I have taught basic computer skills at a nursery school, computer and Tai Chi classes for various senior organizations, and basic programming for teens. Although I graduated from NYU with a major in psychology, my minor was in computer science and a majority of my work has been related to computers. I provide technical support, web development, and programming services for small businesses. I am also a Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan master instructor and I have been teaching at Mount Sinai Hospital since 2001.
My approach to teaching focuses on understanding concepts instead of just memorizing "facts" that have no obvious connection to reality. This is more useful in real life and something that is understood is easier to remember without relying on rote techniques or contrived mnemonics.
I am also extremely passionate about photography and I was an avid amateur photographer for over a decade before I started doing paid photography gigs. If you can't figure out how to operate your camera, I can teach you that too." less...
