"Hello! My name is Hannah, and I'm a 2023 graduate of Appalachian State University with an English BA. I've taken extensive courses in both Literature and Creative Writing, and I'm one of the six recipients (nationwide) of the Truman Capote Literary Trust Winter 2023 Scholarship for Prose. My literary specializations are 20th and 21st Century fiction and poetry, and for those of you who are AP students looking to get an edge on your May exams, I scored a five in Language and Composition and a four in Literature and Composition.
I was a Girl Scout from kindergarten to twelfth grade and from eleven onwards, I spent a lot of time teaching different skills, such as safely building fires and handling knives, to kids of all ages. More recently, I've helped my classmates proofread and offer advice on their essays, short stories, and I've helped them to understand complex works such as "The Wasteland" by T.S. Eliot and The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner.
Essays can be daunting, but when you take a formulaic approach to them, you can knock it out of the park every time. Everyone learns differently, and I like to take a flexible approach to teaching that's personally tailored to each student, and I'm committed to helping you feel confident in your understanding of the material. I think we'll make a great team!" less...
