"Hello, I am a graduate of SUNY Binghamton University with a degree in Neuroscience and chemistry minor. Currently I am pursuing a Master's in Biology through Tufts University and have some industry experience as a manufacturing chemist. I have been tutoring students in high school math and sciences for the last 6 years and am passionate about helping others learn and understand the mathematical and scientific space. I have shadowed students in middle school classrooms as a student assistant/In-class tutor as well, giving me an understanding of some of the challenges of classroom learning.
When giving lessons, I like to breakdown concepts slowly and methodically, going into detail on the different components of the theory/equation/problem to fully demonstrate principles and how they work. More than this, I work to give the student an intuitive sense of mathematical relations and a thorough understanding such that they are able to understand and apply concept, but also know how to check their work and see when something is off.
My studies in my BS and Master's, as well as in my profession as a chemist give me a substantial base of knowledge of theory and application that allows me to be effective in demonstrating concepts. I am passionate about chemist and biology, and the math of physics is enjoyable. My love for science translates such that I strive to instill this same passion in students by breaking down concepts and giving examples. My goal is that every student has an understanding of the physical world around them and feels conformable applying the underlying concepts that shape it.
Teaching and Tutoring is something I am passionate about and believe is important for building the next generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders. I am well versed in a number of other fields besides the ones I list (although level of expertise varies) and use these to incorporate into lessons. If you have any questions about subjects, let me know. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you." less...
