"My name is Marty, and I would love to tutor your children in whatever they need help in. I majored in History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and also achieved an Associates in Science from Parkland Community College. For my Associates degree, I studied mostly chemistry and math, but also physics and biology. For my history major, I mostly studied European History, but also took many classes in U.S. and Ancient History. I feel that I am very proficient in all areas and levels of History and Math, but I can help in other subjects as well.
Before college, I attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School, finished in the top 10% of my class, and scored a 30 on my ACT. During my time there, I took AP Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and played on the baseball team.
I have worked at Flossmoor Country Club for 10 years, so I have met many of the South Suburbs' most influential people. I have also helped many kids become great caddies at this club, by teaching them and helping them if they had any troubles. During college, I tutored the 13 year old daughter of the cook at our fraternity for two years, usually for two hours a week. We studied mostly math, but I also helped her with science and history questions.
After college, I have worked with my girlfriend's 10 year old niece a few times in different areas that she needed help in. I have also helped a friend of mine that was having trouble in math at Elmhurst College.
I feel that I am a very patient tutor, and can greatly help children learn material that they are struggling in. I do not give them the answers, but rather push them in the right direction, and make sure that it sticks with follow-up questions. I am also a fun person that can make learning enjoyable for anyone, usually through metaphors that will resonate with children. I would love to tutor your kids of any ages, and I look forward to hearing from you." less...
