"Hi, my name is Jerri. My goal is to encourage learning for each student by making it fun and involving each student in the learning process. People learn in many different ways, therefore; my tutoring methods will vary with each individual. I seek to find the way each student learns best. By helping each one realize their own potential, not only will their confidence improve so will their willingness and ability to learn.

All the subjects I currently tutor are personally enjoyable; and because I do enjoy them, this carries over into my tutoring sessions. The subjects I have chosen are subjects I excelled in while in school. I am continuing with my own education to remain "fresh" on many subjects. I am currently working on becoming certified with the Sonday program along with the Orton Gillingham approach for reading, spelling, and writing. I am one class short of a two year degree in Business Administration and I am pursuing an education in teaching. I assign homework so that I may be able to provide assessments and progress reports.

I encourage feedback from each parent and child. I am flexible with time. I request cancellations be done in a reasonable amount of time, however; I understand that emergencies do come up. I do offer make-up classes.

I prefer to meet at the library. Not only is it quiet but it also has many resources and encourages each student to use these resources not only for academic learning but for learning things of interest.
