"I'm Edward, and I graduated with an honors BS degree and MS degree from UC Berkeley in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I also have a minor in Classics/Ancient Greek out of personal interest. Currently, I am working on my doctorate from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. My educational background has equipped me with a strong foundation in mathematical and scientific principles, as well as critical thinking skills.
In terms of my teaching experience, I have over 5+ semesters of experience as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate and graduate-level classes at both UC Berkeley and MIT. This experience has included creating course material, including problem sets, exams, and labs. I have also co-taught a class at UC Berkeley, which was a great opportunity for me to understand different learning styles and adapt my teaching methods accordingly. While most of my teaching experience is at the university level, I have also tutored grade school students ranging from elementary school to high school.
My tutoring approach focuses on avoiding memorization; instead, I strive to help my students understand the logic and principles of whatever they are working on. I believe that a solid understanding of fundamental concepts is crucial for success in any subject. With my experience teaching in 1:1 settings and small group settings, I am able to tailor my teaching to cater to the individual needs of each student. I am passionate about helping my students build a strong foundation in problem-solving, a key skill for both academic and personal success." less...
