LSAT is learnable. It has a clear pattern. I am good at LR & RC questions designed for 170+, and problems w/ nuances and perspectives missed easily by students.
In practice, I constantly scored above 98% on real LSAT. I improved most when practicing individual problems w/ a focus on why I chose a wrong AC — I hence eventually gained intuitive sense on LSAT pattern. One key to LR/RC is to see the “trap” designed into LSAT problems, to gain the LSAT sense, and to recognize patterns.
I have helped LSAT students
1) for their beginning of the journey, where my tutoring focused on the structure of the exam, formal logic, question types, and so on;
2) for their later prep when performance peaked, where my tutoring focused on identifying weak areas, correcting misunderstandings on logic (e.g. sufficient/necessary condition), improving quality of thinking, reviewing and revising study plan, drilling on recognizing patterns, and so on;
3) for their final stage when they hoped to get out one or two more points for their performance, where my tutoring focused on practicing together on individual problems, explaining why the correct answer choice is correct and more important why the wrong ones are wrong, and providing additional insights when they already saw the answer key but still wanted to see the “why”;
4) testing strategies to maximize the potential.
My tutoring is personalized and one approach is problem-based. If you scored 160, then tutoring on individual problems to broaden perspectives, to gain additional insights are effective to improve. If after the key and explanations, you still look for a deeper understanding, or you aim for 170+, I hope to help you." less...
