"Hello, I have been a substitute teacher for several years, as well as teaching summer school. I have authored 11 nonfiction books mostly on history. I have a TV series on channel 2. I have four children of my own, 3 boys and a daughter.
My life experiences bring a view to education for its practical uses. My father, brother-in-law and I made a wood gassifier out of ordinary parts and discarded materials that converts wood into gas that runs a normal internal combustion engine and mounted it on a Ford truck-- demonstrating it in parades and for several television shows. It helps for students to see how the theoretical converts to the practical. I worked for the US Forest Service for 16 years ranging from using my degree in Biology (recombiant DNA) for the Institute of Forest Genetics to doing the Abandoned Mine survey for the El Dorado and Tahoe National Forests and being a Forest Protection Officer. I often taught classes to visitors and school groups while working for the USFS. I served three enlistments in the US Navy, graduating at the top of my A and later C schools. I tutored fellow students including ones from other countries.
I bring experience from a wide set of disciplines with a bent on the practical use of education to benefit the student in their life." less...
