"I've had a knack for physics and math ever since I first started learning them in school. I've always found them fascinating and love to share my understanding of them to anyone who will listen! Through high school and college I enjoyed helping my friends and peers study and do homework and I decided to teach laboratories for my school's physics department as well as private tutoring. I've continued tutoring ever since, finding it to be my passion in life.
In high school I earned awards and accolades for math and physics through club competitions and I taught myself AP Calculus BC as well as AP Physics C. I scored 5's and a 4 on my exams and Graduated with honors. In college I dual-majored in mathematics and physics with an astronomy minor. I was nominated president of our local chapter of the Sigma-Pi-Sigma Physics Honors Society and I graduated with honors.
I have excelled at mathematics since elementary school, as I've always been a "numbers guy". I scored 5 on both AP Calculus Exams and have experience over the better half of the last decade teaching people math from middle school algebra to college-level linear algebra, as well as every level of calculus. I make use of online learning sources and graphing resources to show the intuitive side of mathematics.
I started learning physics from my enthusiastic high school teacher whose motivation was not just test scores, but showing us how to truly understand and appreciate the intricacies and beauty of nature. With that understanding and the mathematical background to support it, success in physics follows effortlessly. My goal is to follow in his footsteps and show students how equations are not just formulas to be memorized, but blueprints for the universe that we can grasp.
My teaching style is based on encouragement, motivation, and a mutual understanding of the student's academic needs. If you're as willing to learn as I am to teach, then we will work well together." less...
