"Do you enjoy learning, making things work, or solving interesting problems? Of course! To enhance your work in these endeavors, you may want to fill in gaps that occur in the rush through your workday, classes, sports, music/art lessons, etc. My goal is to help you identify those gaps and eliminate them. I would like to share with you the methods and habits that I've attained during my career as an Engineer, a division-1 athlete, college professor, and professional tutor. My promise is that you will see your subject in a new light, look forward to taking on the work/exams/assignments, and gain power in the new-found knowledge. You will see your lessons as fun, exciting, and useful, resulting in time savings and better performance in your endeavors.
I'm a retired computer engineer, now tutoring since 2015. My undergrad and post-grad studies, and 30+ years of on-the-job experience as an Engineer (MSEE) were very enjoyable, along with the hobbies, sports, and music I've experienced. Now, I can say that tutoring subjects such as physics, math, computers, programming, applications, etc. (see my subject list) has been a great experience and joy. For students who like to learn, I think it is really a matter of 'perspective' and 'balance' as follows:
'PERSPECTIVE' comes from recognizing where the material fits into your future, why it's valuable to you, and how it relates to knowledge already acquired.
'BALANCE' means that you will see your education as a journey with some unsure footing, but staying on track will help you reach your goals.
My tutoring philosophy:
- Clear communications helps me to quickly understand your potential study gaps;
- My diverse background helps me build on your existing foundation and skills;
- Reinforcing each lesson with practice and feedback helps guide you toward more optimized independent learning.
