"I am a passionate educator with five years of teaching experience and two years of tutoring experience. I worked in a setting 3 autism program for my first three years of teaching-one year at a middle school and two years at an elementary school. I worked in a resource special education classroom for two years at the elementary level. In my five years of teaching, I have worked with students with autism, ADHD, EBD, DCD, and dyslexia and other learning disabilities. I believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to learn in a way that meets their unique needs. As a special education teacher, I provide targeted, individualized instruction to support students in any areas they need. I have taught reading, writing, math, social skills, functional skills, study skills, and many more. By recognizing student strengths and addressing their challenges, I aim to empower everyone with the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
Regarding my own education, I graduated from the University of South Dakota with a 3.8 GPA in 2019 with a double major in Special Education (K-12) and History Education (7-12). I later went on to earn my Masters in Education with a specialization in mental health from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2023 with a 4.0 GPA. I achieved my certification in the Orton-Gillingham (OG) introductory level in 2023 and have been tutoring students at the elementary level using the OG approach for two years.
