"My diverse background in sound, typography, design, visual illusions (OP-ART) and patterning set me aside from most graphic design and typography teachers. At the forefront of my teaching is "play-improvisation" where students experiment, test and generate new visual information.

I have taught 2D Design Theory, Graphic Design 1 and 2 as an Adjunct Instructor. As an Assistant Professor I have 3 years of successful and high impact teaching experience. My design experiences prior to teaching include working for over 20 years in both corporate and creative design studios as well as creative freelance work.

I hold an MFA in Electronic Integrated Arts from Alfred University and a BFA in Graphic Design from MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art). I have a diverse artistic background: graphic design, typography, sound art/noise, sculpture, performance, band/music, conceptual art, technical drawing and illustration, textile art, patterning and more.

If you want to get better at design then you must start a plan. Learning software alone will not help you get better at graphic design.
