For the last few years, I have worked as a transportation planner, but I've also served as a teaching assistant, a private in-home tutor, and an in-class teacher's aide. My past tutoring work has involved:
- Tutoring a high school student in algebra and trigonometry
- Working in-house with an 8th grader with special needs to improve writing, math, and organizational skills
- Tutoring two fourth graders in advanced math (pre-algebra)
- Serving as a teaching assistant for a graduate-level transportation planning course of 40 students, providing feedback on grammar, analytical skills, and critical thinking for mid-length (12-16 page) papers about various transportation concepts discussed in class
- Serving as a teaching assistant for a 25-student urban design course, grading students’ visions for new development sites based on their creativity, feasibility, and use of skills learned in class.
- Volunteering as an in-class aide for a sixth-grade social studies course at a charter school for underprivileged children
- Volunteering as an in-class aide for a second-grade Catholic religious education class" less...
