"Hi, I’m Meztli (Mets-lee)! I’m a current UCLA undergraduate majoring in Physiological Science and pursuing a minor in Public Health. I attended Port of Los Angeles High School (POLAHS), a public charter high school in San Pedro, where I graduated with a 4.29 GPA. I was a member of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation, was named the Rotary Student of the Year, and was recognized as a Future Leader of San Pedro. I am currently an EMT and a pre-med student at UCLA.
My teaching experience includes serving as a docent at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium for seven years, where I taught children in grades K-12 about marine life and conservation efforts. I focused on creative approaches to help students not only memorize information but also comprehend and truly learn the material.
I am eager to tutor subjects such as anatomy, genetics, pre-calculus, and various topics for students in grades K-12. By breaking down complex concepts into simpler, more manageable ideas, I hope to boost students' confidence and help them achieve their academic goals. Tutoring allows me to share my knowledge while also fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.
