"Hi, my name is Evan! I graduated from UCSD with a major in Mathematics - Computer Science in 2021 and graduated from UCI with a Master of Arts in Teaching in July 2023. I have over four years of experience as a tutor for both high school and college level math. One of my favorite parts about tutoring is being able to notice my efforts making a difference in my students' knowledge. I enjoy breaking down material into more comprehensible language that my students can more easily understand.
A favorite subject of mine to teach is high school level competitive math, including preparation for the AMC 8/10/12. I enjoy working on more challenging problems involving simpler concepts since these problems often require a more creative approach. However, I love tutoring all levels of mathematics, and I can work with my students with any subject to help them reach their goals.
I've been passionate about math all my life as it's always been one of my favorite subjects. In high school, I was a member of the Math Team for 3 years and qualified for the AIME both years that I took the AMC. I've scored a 36 on the ACT Math section, an 800 on the SAT Math section (for both the new and old SAT), and an 800 on the SAT Math 2 Subject Test. Some topics that I'm comfortable tutoring are SAT/ACT topics, AMC topics, Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. Depending on the level of difficulty, I may be able to tutor other topics as well, so feel free to ask if the subject you are looking for help in is something that I can assist you with.
Regarding my tutoring sessions, I am very flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to best fulfill my students' needs. If you're looking to improve your SAT/ACT scores in math, qualify for the AIME, or improve your grades in a class, I have plenty of resources available to help my students and I'd be more than willing to help you out. If you are interested in a tutoring session or have any questions, please contact me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!" less...
