"Why History? I love history because it teaches me how to understand the world! My first teaching job was with a Level II alternative school that scared me to death. I couldn't understand how I would be able to get these students interested in history and be willing to learn from me. In the end, these students empowered me by proving that a willing teacher will produce willing students. This experience was so life-changing that I enrolled in graduate school, eventually earning a Master's in Teaching, History.

History has always been the subject that pulled me into the very pages of the book. A college mentor told me the best advice for learning history, "To understand history, one must first understand the politics, religions, and cultural of the period." I have found this to be true. My teaching methods are prepared to correlate with the student's classwork. I believe strongly in the Hands-On-Activities method in which the student will be stimulated by their producing of the solution. Each activity will be introduced, objectives explained, modeled by myself, practiced by the student, and then reviewed. On-going assessments and periodic progress reports will be provided as agreed on by both parties.

I do require a 24 hour cancellation notice, however, I will offer a make up class if my schedule allows. My tutoring locations are flexible throughout Alamance, Orange, Durham, Guilford, and Randolph counties. The location will be arranged per student.

While I have grown to love education, I wasn't always so comfortable with it. Learning can be hard and even those of us in the profession often struggled.
