"Prior to graduating law school I was the business manager for a multimillion dollar computer company in New York, where I began my professional career. Immediately after graduating law school and reaching the Honor Roll, I was hired as the East Coast director of recruitment for the law school. During this period I travelled to prestigious colleges and universities all along the eastern seaboard to recruit potential law students for the school. I alone established the entire recruitment office which prior to my hiring did not exist. Working closely with the Dean of the law school, I sought and recruited qualified students for the school. Through this program enrollment of students from the East Coast quadrupled during my tenure. Since that time I began practicing and continued practicing law in New York, New Jersey (and later Pennsylvania) and during which time I started working on my Master’s Degree in History and Political Science from East Stroudsburg University. It was also during that time that I began teaching at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), where I have taught part time, while practicing law full time since 2008. After I began teaching I discovered I found my true passion in education and student development. Now I look forward to dedicating my career to teaching.
My teaching method for history and political science is strongly based upon how I was taught in law school. I believe history cannot be taught without understanding the interrelationship between history and politics and that one cannot be taught without the other. I also strongly believe that history and politics cannot truly be taught through lecture alone and accordingly I teach all my classes interactively through Socratic Method. This engages not only the students but the material and I personally believe this has led to the great success I have experienced in the classroom. This past summer my family and I relocated to Washington and I again seek to become active in teaching." less...
