"My journey with Spanish began when I was in the 6th grade. As a member of an airline family, and an airline employee myself, I have had many opportunities to practice the language with speakers worldwide, quickly growing my comprehension. In high school, I began to tutor my peers as well as younger students, while volunteering as a TA in a lower level Spanish class. I scored a 5 on the AP exam and a sufficient score on the university entrance exam to skip the first two years of study. In university, I began to study French and German as well, furthering my understanding of what learning a language means, and how to apply that framework. I volunteered at a local elementary school, tutoring immigrant students in English, and continued my own study; I took courses in Spanish language, literature, linguistics, and medicine.
As a recent graduate, I am familiar with school curriculum, both its weaker and stronger points. I am very familiar with common areas of confusion for non-native speakers of both Spanish and english, and can develop personally curated activities to make the learning both fun and interesting." less...
