"My name is Caylie! I'm currently teaching English Composition at a local university, though I also have experience in teaching college-level creative writing and grade-school-level english of all kinds! My undergraduate degree is from Salisbury University. My major is in English and I minored in Philosophy!

I love helping people learn--and I love helping people love what they're learning! I learned a love for literature and writing organically. Not everyone has that experience, but it doesn't mean they can't still learn that love. I've had a lot of success with my college students through bringing complex writing concepts down to a relatable and "current" level (often bringing in themes of social media, technology, social justice, art, etc). I believe teaching is most successful when students can be engaged with what they're learning.

I aim to make learning fun! Learning to write essays can be a drag. We've all sat proofreading the same essay for hours without actually learning anything new from it. We've all read "required reading" stories that were an absolute chore to get through. I love reading and writing and I still know the struggle. I learned from the mistakes of my professors and I aim to do better by the people I teach.
