"Hello! I’m Liz Hinlein, an award-winning Director, Cinematographer, and Filmmaker with a passion for empowering emerging filmmakers to unlock their potential—both technically and creatively. With a BFA in Film from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA from the American Film Institute, I bring a solid foundation from two of the world’s most respected film institutions.

I’ve had the privilege of teaching filmmaking and visual storytelling to students of all levels at renowned institutions like USC, UCLA, NYU, and the New York Film Academy, as well as globally in workshops with SONY, Blackmagic, and Maine Workshops. My teaching style is grounded in hands-on expertise and personalized guidance, whether you’re a beginner exploring your creative voice or a professional looking to elevate your craft. I help students master the essentials of storytelling and cinematography while fostering a creative environment that inspires fresh ideas and confident filmmaking.
