"I am a graduate from Washington University in St. Louis in Biomedical engineering beginning my first year as an MSTP student at Stony Brook University in the fall. I have been a tutor for the past 6 years starting as an SAT English and Math Teacher at Coherence Learning Center in VA. I spent a summer teaching in person a class of around 5-10 high school students and then another two years teaching online reading and writing to 3rd-5th grade students. During my years in the undergraduate program at WashU, I gained valuable experience as a teaching assistant for organic chemistry lab, which allowed me to hone my talents in teaching a classroom of 20-30 college students with a hands-on practical approach in person. In this time, I also was a problem solving team leader for an introductory biomedical engineering course where I led discussions and walk-throughs of problem sets to freshman students. Through my scholarship program, I volunteered for online 1-on-1 tutoring of high-school juniors and seniors about physics and SAT prep.
