"Hi! Welcome to my bio-- I'd love for you to get to know me and my tutoring methods here, so that I can get to know you and your learning needs in the future. I am confident in tutoring topics ranging from elementary school math and reading all the way to the MCAT. I believe that anyone can succeed in their education with the right motivation and support; let me be that for you!
I have over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. This started when I was still in high school and continued in my undergraduate education at Northeastern University. Before finishing summa cum laude (3.87), I tutored mostly biology courses in between being a resident assistant (its own form of mentoring!). I loved Boston so much, that I stuck around and was hired by my alma mater to teach independent biology lab courses, where I had about a hundred students a semester.
I graduated medical school in May and continue to tutor because I love it! In the past, I designed and taught a MCAT Biology prep course for Rutgers undergraduates. I have also been involved with mentoring programs for college students interested in becoming physicians. Teaching and mentoring my patients in the hospital has also always been rewarding for me; the same goes for my students.
My approach to tutoring and learning is all about doing it smarter. You can spend hours struggling on your own and succeed, this is true. Instead, with a good teacher, you can learn in a way that you can be confident things are going to STICK! To accomplish this, I try to teach things in the easiest “Explain it like I’m five” way. To finish it off, I value active over passive learning; let’s go over real-life examples, let’s do practice problems, let’s have you take a shot at teaching ME! I’ve found that these techniques have helped me succeed, and I’m confident they will work for you too.
If you need any more information about my qualifications or would just like to see if we are a good fit, don’t hesitate to reach out! I can’t wait to hear from you!" less...
