"I am currently a fourth year medical student applying to orthopaedic surgery for the 2025 match cycle. Looking to help medical students achieve the highest shelf and step scores while also being able to provide for my kids before residency.
I have a Bachelor of Science and will attain my MD in May of 2025 after completing a research year (orthopaedic surgery) at Northwestern University. Presently, I am undertaking rotations at Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and Loyola, ranking in the top quartile of my class and receiving AOA honors for my performance on clinical and NBME subject exams. My long-term career aspirations include remaining in academic medicine, as teaching and aiding students in overcoming obstacles I once also faced provide me with immense gratification.
With six years of tutoring experience spanning elementary to graduate-level students—including medical, nursing, and PA students—I recognize and adapt to varying academic abilities. Some students excel at standardized tests while others may struggle, often hindered by test-taking anxiety, a common challenge in medicine. My approach is highly personalized; I adapt my teaching methods to meet individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all strategy. For instance, while some might succeed with just UWorld and Anki, others require tailored strategies to excel.
Whether starting from scratch to build foundational medical knowledge or tackling complex pathophysiology, I guide students at all levels. I offer insights into effective test-taking strategies and NBME-specific questions. My goal is to help you devise a realistic study schedule, providing the accountability needed to meet your goals, whether for an upcoming NBME shelf exam or a USMLE Step exam months away. Together, we will enhance your strengths and address your weaknesses, ensuring you are confident on test day. For those preparing for shelf exams, I also provide tips on excelling clinically during rotations." less...
